"Ma Perkins" (or "Oxydol's Own Ma Perkins") is a beloved radio soap opera produced by Frank & Anne Hummert, debuting on WLW-Cincinnati Radio on August 14, 1933. It became the longest-running radio soap opera, transitioning to the NBC Red Network on December 4, 1933, and later to CBS Radio in 1942, where it aired on both networks simultaneously.

The show revolves around Ma Perkins, the owner of a lumber yard in the small Southern town of Rushville Center, and her interactions with the townsfolk and her three children, Evey, Fay, and John. Virginia Payne, who portrayed Ma Perkins, delivered heartfelt advice and wisdom to those in need throughout the show's 27-year run, which included over 7,000 episodes.

"Ma Perkins" concluded on November 25, 1960, marking the end of an era for radio serials. The show was known for its engaging storylines and memorable characters, leaving a lasting impact on its audience.
