Untrodden Peaks and Unfrequented Valleys
Amelia Ann Blanford Edwards
Read by Sibella Denton

Amelia B. Edwards wrote this historical travelogue in in 1873. The book describes her travels through a relatively un-visited area in the South Tyrol district of Italy. The Dolomites are a part of that most famous of mountain chains, the Alps.
In this book, the Writer and her friend and companion, L., travel from Southern Italy, having over-wintered there, to visit the Dolomite district. Her chatty style, dry sense of humor, accuracy of facts, and sympathy for humanity set her works apart. The slice of Victorian British life presented is quite captivating. (8 hr 30 min)

The Communistic national Socialist Gay Homophobe
This excellently narrated travellogue makes you want to get out of bed and explore the world. Therin lies the problem. Exploration is now known to be the Hallmark of the white male colonizing patriarchy. Another problem is the author failed to rail against Homophobia. The fact she was probably a lesbo does not excuse her from her failure to explicitly become a transgendered defender in nonbinary gay sex. All these failures make the author a literal figurative Aldolf Hitler
What a horrible woman Amelia Edwards is

I find her personality fascinating, because she's a window into the Victorian mindset, where it seems perfectly fair to carve strips off rural Italians for not knowing how to serve teea. At least this time she doesn't wonder why people are so upset her friend almost shot a child ("A Thousand Miles Up The Nile"). Well read.
