British Sci-Fi Shows - 10 - Earthseach
James Follett
British Sci-Fi Shows No 10: Earthsearch is a ten-part adventure serial in time and space, written by James Follett. This captivating science fiction radio series was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 between January and March 1981.
The story follows the starship Challenger, a vast ten-mile-long survey vessel launched from Earth on an interstellar mission to find an Earth-type planet for colonization. However, the mission has faced challenges, and the crew has dwindled to just four survivors: Commander Telson, Science Officer Sharna, and crew members Darv and Astra. Raised by robots and mysterious beings known as the Angels, these third-generation crew members navigate the complexities of their damaged ship and their own beliefs about the nature of their guardians.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Reviews
I love a story with a good twist.

But I feel that the last couple of paragraphs were added to prevent offending religious groups. Great sound quality and voice acting, and the plot never drags. I would have eagerly awaited every weekly installment.

Why only post half the story? If you listen to the end, you'd think it is the end. However there is much more that happens. Here is the full adventure with the added mind webbs" thrown in. https://archive.org/details/Earthsearch123BBCr4

This was an awesome story. It was so good. I'm dieing to hear more about the challenger crew. If there isn't anymore I will be sad. I have a great imagination and I'm a good writer. I might just have to write my own story. Great job!!!

It's Amazingly simple and leaves a lot of room to imagine how the ship and travelling works. I think I liked Fulgor the best. Loved it!!!!!!!

great old sci-fi, nothing spectacular but a quite common story nicely done with voice actors.
