The Amazing Mr. Malone features Frank Lovejoy as Chicago’s mystery-solving lawyer John J. Malone. The series debuted on January 11, 1947, over ABC, sponsored by Guild Wines through the Honig-Cooper agency. Each week, Mr. Malone found himself embroiled in a variety of intriguing cases involving murder, blackmail, mistaken identities, and gambling.
In the spring of 1948, the sponsor announced they would be cutting ties with the show, leading to a title change from Murder and Mr. Malone to The Amazing Mr. Malone on April 24, 1948. At that time, the series was broadcast over 63 stations of the ABC network. The show continued until March 1949, captivating audiences with its thrilling mysteries.
