Molle Mystery Theatre - Single Episodes
Molle Mystery Theatre, which aired on NBC, began its journey on September 7, 1943, promising captivating stories from renowned mystery authors. The series was notable for its high production values and the presence of Geoffrey Barnes, an annotator who provided insights into the plot and backstory, enhancing the listener's experience.
Throughout its run, Molle Mystery Theatre featured sponsorship from various brands and was well-documented in newspapers, making it one of the most promoted radio programs of its time. The show transitioned from NBC to CBS and later to ABC, undergoing several changes in format and focus, particularly with the introduction of Inspector Hearthstone.
Despite the challenges faced during its later years, including competition from television and other radio programs, Molle Mystery Theatre remains a significant part of radio history, known for its engaging storytelling and production quality.

Great for fans of classic OTR - Well done!
Den NC USA
Vivia (review below) is right, MMT is right up there with Suspense, thought much less well known. This is a good show, with excellent production values (acting, pace, script and music) that makes for fine listening to fall asleep to each evening. Chilling? Sure, hopefully. A show I suggest is #38. Night must Fall. It's a classic tale by Emlyn Williams, was a movie, (Rosalind Russell and Robert Montgomery - Night Must Fall (1937), and there were three other OTR productions listed on the WIKI for the original, including Suspense, but I've not gone to find them just yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Must_Fall Elsewhere I read Roc Rogers was Geoffrey Barnes.
As.good (and sometimes even better) than SUSPENSE
Vivia
Fans of 1940s SUSPENSE check this series out. if you want a break from Harlow Wilcox rhapsodizing about AUTOLITE and Truman Bradley about R-O-M-A wine, these stories are highly entertaining. Some have been adapted by both series and I am happy to be able to tell you that sometimes MOLLES versions are superior. LAST NIGHT is a good example.
