So Good!

Verity
Such an enjoyable delivery of Laperouse's voyages of discovery. A subject such as this one might otherwise have been just a cold. monotonous recital of facts and figures, but instead the book is a study in his character and motivations and his heart! Bravo! it was especially enjoyable for me, having visited Captain Cook's memorial plaque while living on the Hawaiian island of Maui, and La Perouse Bay, which was one of my husband's favorite surf spots. One of my favorite memories is four-wheeling up and over huge boulders and through passages that were not designed for vehicle traffic to get to the Bay years before it was a popular tour destination. The dogs and I would have to walk behind our vehicle for safety and proper weght distribution so it wouldn't roll. Great fun, great memories of bygone years, inspired by this interesting and enjoyable book.
