Iron bars do not confine a Man—only his body. There are more subtle, and more confining bindings, however....Police methods of the future will naturally use complex new technology but police will still need to deal with the same old sad human nature, forever doing horrible deeds. The night stick may be replaced by the hypo-gun but is prison the only solution? Listen to this neat story by Randall Garrett and see.

Can we have one of those....

for our prison system??? Oh what a wonderful world it would be. In the future, there are killers, and other violent criminals, but now there are ways to short-circuit those criminals' minds so that they never hurt anyone again. Phil did an excellent job reading this, as always. Thanks!

Mediocre story badly read

The biggest flaw here was the reader though I very much enjoy this reader on many other stories. This it’s s a dark tale dealing with dark themes. The reads voice as narrator for the hero is entirely too cheerful. The story itself is too graphic and the solution too implausible while the finer points of he concept are left too nebulous.

a pleasant enough story

An interesting story however the complete non discussion of the psychological processes at the heart of the story leaves it lacking.
