With Open Hands
Abby Thornton
On the busiest travel weekend of the summer, we hear strange travel advice from Jesus: carry nothing with you on the journey but open hands. What does it mean to be an open-handed disciple, letting go of the many things we cling to and emptying our hands to the kingdom of God? Jesus' instructions to 70 new followers in Luke 10 and the healing of Naaman in 2 Kings 5 will guide our thoughts around this question.
