The speculative villainy is borrowed from Frankenstein and rests on many disproved premises, but this author was able to apply the brand new television technology in a way we all recognize today. Many troops are still characteristic of the genre, echoed in Star Trek and elsewhere.

A short entertaining story

I wanted a book that was entertaining and short. This fit the order. Ignore some of the vocabulary and enjoy a most unlikely scenario. Disappearing trains, giant holes in the ground, an entire underground world, and of course a love affair.

Meh...

Totally unbelievable. Good reading, as usual.
