Good Mystery

(4 Sterne)

I agree this is a good story. There are many twists and turns to keep you wondering. I am giving this four stars, because there are other stories I have like better. Also this rating is in part due to the over use (in my opinion) of Sherlock Holmes - more precisely Watson references. The reader earns 5 stars.

Oh bother!

According to the dedication the authors father was an avid fan of mystery stories. This book is, both a farce of the genre , and a darn good mystery at the same time. The reader was quite good! It was almost a dramatic reading read by one person.

interesting mystery, the sleuth turning over his ideas through the story, not just at the finale

Thanks For A Great Job

I am a professional musician and I learn better with my ears than with my eyes. I am also an Army Combat veteran and have some symptoms of PTSD. I love the musical sound of the reader who read so beautifully this story. The story was good but the voice was great. But I appreciate all of the readers and thank God for all of you. You all are doing a great service and as I listen to the stories they take me away from the sounds and memories that sometimes are so painful. Thank you so much.

Well written mystery

The main character is a wealthy wanderer who likes to try different professions. On one of his sojourns, he is in the right place to witness a murder. Noting the conflicts in the story, he decides to try his hand at sleuthing. He even finds a 'Watson' to help him along. The story takes a number of unexpected twists and keeps the listener guessing as to the outcome. A note regarding the reader; she did a FABULOUS job.

Good plot & well read

I liked the story told by an outsider and was caught by surprise a few times. The narrator did a good job and it was easy to get a feeling of different characters

Great mystery

A very great mystery with alot of twists and turns. Very terrific narration by Kristin Hughes.

Truly Enjoyable

Great mystery! I couldn't figure out what happened, which I appreciate. I loved the relationship between Gillingham & Beverly. They call each other "ass" a lot which made me giggle. I thought it was cute & liked that they referred to each other as Holmes & Watson. They were so curious they investigated without telling the police or anyone else which always makes me nervous! I wish I could read more stories about them.
