I feel like most people are just being quite rude about the readers. If you don't like it, don't listen to it! Better yet, volunteer yourself. stop being rude just because it makes you feel better about yourself.

These tiny few who hatchet the narrator are to be pitied. One can "critique" without such awful and self revealing vitriol. These comments say far more about the extreme non-security of the reviewers than about the lady who read the material well and volunteered to do so. It may be that you expected a "strong" male voice and were disappointed. PR maybe you disagree with the approach of sounding like the narrator is reading to a small group. MAYBE. I have been a narrator / actor / broadcast journalist for 45 years. Won awards in all those fields. I would not read this in the same way as this lady. BUT... RULE ONE in doing books aloud is..? Know your voice strength and weakness for the project. Know the author intent and fit your reading delivery to each. This lady did just that. If you would prefer Charles Laughton or Alexander Scour by, go find such a recording and buy it.
