Interesting, unique, and a nice, calm voice to listen to

FLETCHER OUTDOES HIMSELF

Avid Listener
JSF (Murder, He Wrote?) always writes gripping, enjoyable stortes, but I honestly like this one better than any of them. It does not hurt that Richard Kilmer lent his inimitable style to the reading.
A Terrific Book

Well developed plot and good depth of main character development. Thanks to one of the best readers ever.

A very good mystery. I took off a 1/2 star because it felt like the murderer came out of nowhere.
ace

loved the story and the reader
I feel bad for saying this...

I can see that the reader has sadly passed, but putting that aside, I just couldn't get on with him. It was like somebody was reading a phone book. I had to switch off. I feel bad for saying that, but what's the point of a review if it's not honest. He had a great tone to his voice, but it just felt like someone reading the ingredients off a box. I couldn't cope any longer and just had to call it a day.
Not how I expected to turn out

This story had several less common plot twists and held my interest until the disappointing last couple of chapters. Spoiler: a mystery should not end with the perpetrator being outside the ring of main suspects. Avid readers of regular mysteries know they should be presented with enough clues along the way to be able to form an educated guess about the identity of the murderer, even if they are incorrect. The reader was competent and articulate but should try to even out his sing-song tone of speaking.
