AFRS One Night Stand


One Night Stand was a program of live music that was produced and broadcast by the US government via the Armed Forces Radio Service (AFRS) radio network. It featured the popular bands of the day and some lesser-known groups.

Some of the vocalists included Meredith Blake, Helen Ward, Eugenie Baird, Bob Anthony, Thelma Carpenter, Jimmy Rushing, Earle Warren, Dinah Washington, Kitty Kallen, Rosetta Williams, Doris Day, and Kay Starr, among others.
