Bless This Mess

There are 18 surviving Ellery Queen shows known to have survived. Period. In this particular collection, most of the programs do not match the titles. For instance, the shows from 1939 here are not what they are labeled. They are just duplicate copies of the 18 shows that have survived throughout the years. At first, I thought this compilation was a great find of lost shows, but not so.

Good Shows! 78 of them!

These are really good shows! The audio quality is mostly quite good. I don't care if the adventure titles are mislabeled. I just care about the shows. Thanks to whomever cataloged them. :)

Mislabeled Show

Ellery_Queen_47_03_05_312_Nikki_Porter_Suspect.mp3 was the Australian version but the date on the program is for the United States version Ellery_Queens_Minute_Mysteries_xx_xx_xx_134_Canned_Heat.mp3 should be titled Canned Music

Many incorrect titles

(1 Stern)

Today while vetting all the files in my Ellery Queen folder I found that 'most' of the Adventures of Ellery Queen episodes that I downloaded from here have incorrect titles. Really, there isn't an excuse for this as Ellery gives the correct title for each show within the first couple minutes of the broadcast! I won't list all the corrections here, but the episode numbers of the ones that ended up in my trash bin are, 006, 008, 015, 016, 021, 023, 024, 027, 028, 186, 249 and 269. There were a couple that I didn't have and renamed with the correct title, all the rest I already had under the correct titles. . . Phil

Missed Chances

Here's a series that is all but forgotten. Folks may remember the TV episodes, and a few know there were books, but how many totally missed this good radio series?! Thanx to people for collecting old shows and those who gladly share them for free. To those who nitpick quality or labeling, why don't they do more to help preserve radio history instead of carping about program flaws?

Pretty good on the whole, was one that didn’t give the ending I believe. Enjoyed them all for the most part!

Thanks for the person or people who collected, saved, edited and made available all these wonderful old time series. To those who gripe and complain about the quality or nit-pick about titles or petty mistakes......GROW UP and grow a set. There's a ton of free editing software out there to make it better and IF, as one said, the title is in the first few words then stop whining and UPLOAD some edited episodes with less hiss and correct titles...believe me...if I had highspeed I'd LOVE to contribute. What we need is less talk and more action so step up to the plate and upload the corrected titles...then we'll THANK you instead of what we do now.
