Beware - the episodes get progressively worse. But don't worry there are more than enough great episodes. I envy those who are about to begin the gildy journey. You will enjoy the ride.

In 1947 My grandmother gave me a Grantline radio for christmas. The radio was at my bedside. I was 10 years old and tried to stay awake to listen to the The Great Gildersleeve. I thought that Leroy was really cool! Most of the time I fell asleep before the episode ended. Now thanks to the internet archives, I was able to download every episode from 1941 until 1957 and listen to them without falling asleep.
Warhawk 40 for Gildersleeve.
Warhawk 40
This series is a God-send to people of my age (69).I was a "war baby" and was brought up on radio shows such as Gildersleeve. Since I have discovered the Internet Archive site,I have gotten rid of my dish antenna, and rarely watch TV anymore, I have even invested in a DSL line which, of course improves all internet data immensely. Gildersleeve has to be one of the best radio shows ever produced.W.Baser.
One of the greater series
