Le Morte d'Arthur - Vol. 1
Sir Thomas Malory
Gelesen von LibriVox Volunteers

Le Morte d'Arthur (spelled Le Morte Darthur in the first printing and also in some modern editions, Middle French for la mort d'Arthur, "the death of Arthur") is Sir Thomas Malory's compilation of some French and English Arthurian romances. The book contains some of Malory's own original material (the Gareth story) and retells the older stories in light of Malory's own views and interpretations. First published in 1485 by William Caxton, Le Morte d'Arthur is perhaps the best-known work of English-language Arthurian literature today. Many modern Arthurian writers have used Malory as their source, including T. H. White for his popular The Once and Future King. (Summary from Wikipedia) (15 hr 50 min)

Bewertungen
Awesome tales, most readers bad.

Madcap
I never complain about narrators, but whoa....some are unbearable. Still, some are great. Worth listening to, anyway.

A LibriVox Listener
Uneven quality of recording. One reader keeps calling the eleven kings the "elven kings"
Authur & knight tales

Ed
Interesting to hear them with out Hollywood interventions in the mix. Castle intrigues, ladies and damsels, quests and much smoting.
Worth it but...

A LibriVox Listener
The narrator has a very pleasant voice, but lilts the end of every sentence.
Unfortunate

Spoonie
I couldn't listen past the first half hour. The reader ends every sentence with an odd intonation, as if asking a question or singing. It makes it very hard to focus on the story.
too quiet

Benjamin Hodgetts
With headphones, narrator drowned out by any ambient noise. Can't recommend

SteveS
Reader Chrystal: Re-record; it’s all distorted! Impossible to get through.
2008 recording
