David Copperfield is a rich and intricate tale that chronicles the life of its titular character from childhood to adulthood. Through a series of vivid experiences, David navigates the complexities of love, loss, and personal growth in Victorian England.

As he encounters a colorful cast of characters—including the cruel Mr. Murdstone, the kind-hearted Peggotty, and the ambitious Uriah Heep—David's journey reflects the struggles and triumphs of the human spirit. Dickens weaves his own life experiences into this semi-autobiographical narrative, making it a deeply personal exploration of identity and resilience.

With its blend of humor, pathos, and social commentary, David Copperfield stands out as one of Dickens' most cherished works. The novel invites listeners to reflect on the nature of fate and the impact of our choices, all while immersing them in a richly detailed world that captures the essence of 19th-century England.

Great book in need of a few better readers.

(4 Sterne)

The book itself is truly at home amoung the greats of all time, but a few readers made it harder than it should ever be to follow along and truly enjoy. If you bear with the rough s Ots I feel you will be well compensated by your enjoyment of this classic even though it is hampered by a few poor readers here.

This is a classic Dickens novel with inspirational characters and vile villains. Ultimately with some happy endings. I had heard this tale was somewhat autobiographical. There are many sad parts on the journey. But the happiest part is near the end.

I couldn't even handle listening to the entire first chapter. I appreciate the readers efforts, but he lacks a real understanding of English. so it is extremely hard to get into the story.

5 Stars for Dickens

Thanks for your effort reader. For those who prefer an accent closer to the country from whence it came, there is at least one more recording.

Very, very difficult to enjoy this book because of the readers. First chapter was hard to understand the reader and it just gets worse.

Awful narration

although your english would impress I find it very offsetting. Unless your a native speaker Its hard to know where you emphasize. I intend to offer my services. Im sure someone could consider this picky but please understand your grasp of the english language is impresive but it really does not work for an american classic.
