God's Country—And the Woman
James Oliver Curwood
Leído por Esther

James Curwood wrote many adventures of the far north. By 1909 he had saved enough money to travel to the Canadian northwest, a trip that provided the inspiration for his wilderness adventure stories. The success of his novels afforded him the opportunity to return to the Yukon and Alaska for several months each year, which allowed him to write more than thirty such books.
The Canadian North is often referred to as "God's Country"
God’s Country is a tale of adventure, mystery and romance! (7 hr 10 min)

This ranks as one of the best books I've listened to, one which this listener strongly recommends. A great story, and narrated wonderfully, I found myself craving more with each chapter. Do download and listen to this one, you'll not be sorry for doing so. Both story and narrator get my highest ratings.
ANOTHER SATISFYING ENDING

Avid Listener
As one reader commented, this was not his best book, but ot was certainly better than stories by other authors. His gift of description makes the stories come alive and thereby captivate the reader. Esthet did a fine job.

the story is really good and exceptionally well read. The big secret is flipping stupid! I wanted to scream the whole last chapter "how did John not know?" " if Josephine can lie about parentage, why can't other women?"

A LibriVox Listener
Certainly not his best work. Unimaginative traditional boy gets girl story with a plot you can see coming miles ahead. Other Curwood stories are though not less traditional but at least more intriguing and entertaining
An excellent read book

This book was very entertaining and held my interest all the way through. The reader made you feel like you were there, so good I could feel the cold.
Ideals of Chivalry upheld,

The Momtionary
Like in all of Curwood's books, at least the ones I've listened to on here. Reader (Canadian accent?) is very good, even if she mispronounced "baring" as "barring."

Confused What’s going on with Josephine pretending the baby is hers but it’s really Meriam’s. And how does Adair not know if it’s Meriam’s since she’s his wife? Please clarify!!!
