On Stage - Single Episodes
Haven Radio Productions
On Stage aired on CBS from January 1, 1953, until September 30, 1954, totaling 78 episodes. However, only 41 of these shows are currently in circulation. The series was produced and directed by Elliot Lewis, who starred alongside his wife, Cathy Lewis. The concept for the show emerged in the 1940s, leading to CBS granting them the opportunity to create the series in 1952 under their production company, Haven Radio Productions.
Each episode featured strong male and female roles, showcasing the talents of both Elliot and Cathy at the height of their careers. At that time, Elliot was known for his role as Frankie Remley on The Phil Harris and Alice Faye Show, as well as his work on Suspense and Broadway's My Beat. Cathy was a star in My Friend Irma on both radio and television. Unfortunately, as the Golden Age of Radio was drawing to a close, the focus of entertainment was shifting towards television, marking this series as one of the last great offerings of radio.
