The Tickencote Treasure
William Le Queux
Leído por Steven Seitel

Paul Pickering is a doctor without a fixed practice, and when an old sea captain asks him to join a voyage around the Mediterranean, that's finally an exciting prospect for him. The journey goes well until they spot a most strange vessel somewhere off the coast of Algeria. It is an old Elizabethan craft that looks to have been submerged for hundreds of years and recently bubbled back up to the surface. The men board it and find that it had been hermetically sealed all these centuries, all contents intact. But it does not, as first hoped, contain gold. The men find barely legible manuscripts and a mysterious old man, who appears to be as old as the vessel itself... - Summary by Carolin (8 hr 34 min)

Reseñas
Great suspense, surprises galore

A good story. Began pretty slowly but revved up and became most enjoyable. My only minor complaint was the reader's interpretation of female voices. I'd rather he just kept his own voice.
Far-fetched Fun!

Definitely worth a listen. This adventure/romance/ghost story has a lot going for it. Just don’t expect the plot to be plausible. The reader is great but should stick to using his natural voice in future readings. Overall you did a great job narrating sir! Thank you for giving of your valuable time.
Bravo from Borneo

Really enjoyed this novel from WLQ. Steven Seitel is a new WLQ narrator for me and he did a great job; wonderful cadence and delivery. The book is well crafted with WLQ creating a bemusing and mysterious plot line from a nautical starting point and subsequent search for treasure. Good stuff!

This book is a romp. The end is a little predictable, but a lot of fun. Well read. I wish male readers would not try to do women’s voices. It is obnoxious. Well worth the listen.
lots of fun - le Queux such a great find!
