This is a classic in its genre. H G Wells wrote of the danger of science ..or of any pursuit...used without any ethical or moral concern. Griffin, the invisible man, is a mad, narcissistic human made more insane by the obstacle of the real world that oppose the fantasies that fed his insanity. In the end, it is the people, ordinary people...The "bumpkins" who are the "heros."
