Chapters from my Autobiography
Mark Twain
Lu par John Greenman

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) began writing his autobiography long before the 1906 publications of these Chapters from my Autobiography. He originally planned to have his memoirs published only after his death but realized, once he’d passed his 70th year, that a lot of the material might be OK to publish before his departure. These chapters were published in serial form in the North American Review during 1906-1907. While much of the material consists of stories about the people, places and incidents of his long life, there are also several sections from his daughter, which he calls “Susy’s biography of me”. My wife and I spend many hours a week travelling by car. John Greenman's treatment of this never ending chuckle interspersed with belly laughs went a great way to making our (non-productive) times enjoyable. Thank you John for a wonderful, much appreciated effort.
Marvellous

Beautifully performed. I heard extracts of Twain's autobiography on BBC radio a few years ago and was fascinated and delighted. This LibriVox reading is of equal quality.

Mark Twain's writings

I am enjoying to a wonderful degree M. Twain's work. I had never read any of his work to my regret. I have Libra Vox to thank for bringing his work to my attention AND to have selected such an apt narrator: Mr Green! He is more than brilliant! What a voice! He could be M.T. himself. "Eve's Diary" is divine! He is now a friend for life, M. Twain, and I am so grateful for what he left behind. Blessings to Libra Vox, Author, and Reader. Thank You So Much creative people!
