Critiques

It’s perhaps too much to expect that Hope could be as delightful as Shakespeare and Mozart/Da Ponte in juggling couples with interchangeable affections. Halfway through the first story I lost interest in the outcome - through no fault of the fine narrators - and, rather than abandoning all hope, reread The Prisoner of Zenda. Then went on to the second story, which is charming, and delightfully read. So it turns out I’m the fickle one!
