One evening as the P. and O.'s vessel "Neptune" steams away from Australia to Britain, Ronald Monteith, a young, wealthy Australian is taken into the confidence of a fellow-passenger Lionel Ventin who relates the story of his rather tragic life. When Ventin is found stabbed to death in his cabin the next morning Monteith vows to find the murderer, thinking it must surely be the vengeful wife of whom he spoke who is responsible. ABRUPT ENDING

AVID READER
An enjoyable book. but I would have voted for a different ending. Nevertheless, it was still worth reading. Celine Majore is an excellent narrator.
Good story!

Barb Peterson
Easy to listen to and follow. A bit of a surprise ending.

Not very interesting although the narrator is very good.

Is the reader a robot? Too distracting.

CONTAINS SPOILERS. Was a good story until the end, with good narration. But near the beginning of the story, there are several good reasons given why the death is not a suicide, including one that is practically proof. But when you get to the end, a suicide note suddenly turns up. It's like the author didn't know how to end it, so he stuck that in there .
