De Vereniging Van Roodharige Heren 1891 The union of red-haired gentlemen The union of red-headed gentlemen is a radio play based on the story The Red-headed League (1891) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.  Thomas Ulrich edited it and AVRO broadcast it on Tuesday December 18, 1973, from 8:30 PM to 8:53 PM.  The director was Jacques Besançon. Michael Hardwick turned this story into a Sherlock Holmes pastiche that was broadcast by the BBC on August 14, 1962. Ben Heuer translated the radio play and the KRO released it on Friday, August 8, 1969. The director was Léon Povel. The broadcast lasted 43 minutes. The KRO broadcast it on Saturday January 8, 1966. The director was Léon Povel. He was seen visiting an old ghostly crypt late in the evening, in the company of a strange man with a mean yellow face. Now he brings Holmes a piece of charred bone found in the ashes of Harvey Mason's furnace. Watson identifies it as part of a femur. Holmes makes sure of the facts. ...
