I Love a Mystery
Carlton E. Morse
I Love a Mystery was an adventure serial that aired from 1939 to 1944, created and written by producer Carlton E. Morse. The series follows three friends who run the A-1 Detective Agency in San Francisco, embarking on various mysteries and adventures. The main characters, Jack, Doc, and Reggie, originally met as mercenaries in China before reuniting in San Francisco to form their detective agency.
The program was revived twice, first as a 13-week series titled I Love Adventure in 1948, and then again as I Love a Mystery from 1949 to 1952. Although the series was popular, only a few episodes have survived, leading to disappointment among early collectors. Despite this, the show made a significant impact, even inspiring a 1945 movie and a 1973 television film.
