A tale well told.

There are only a few characters in this book, but they are distinctive and memorable. This vintage book is full of humor, sights, smells, humming of bees, sunlight and old fashioned values. I would like to know these people. I found it delightful. There are multiple readers which usually put me off on audio books, but this one is an exception. I enjoyed them all.
Best Book Ever!!!
Athena’s Grandma
I absolutely love this story and this author! She has written my favorite books, and this is my all-time favorite! I love how she includes faith in God, and following his precepts, as part of a good life. I think this book would make an excellent movie! Plenty of drama and suspense, and it takes place on the beautiful California coast. Never a dull moment. And, All of the readers were excellent!
Loved it

Gene Stratton Porter was such an excellent author. I personally really enjoy her writing style, and find it very easy to listen to. The keeper of the bees is a very exciting story, that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and wondering what will become of Jamie MacFarlane. The reason I gave this a four star rating is because one of the readers was vary difficult for me to listen to. This person only read one chapter, (It is chapter 17) so I just completely skipped that chapter. The audio editing, was very distracting, and would cut his (the reader's) voice of very quickly after every sentence. But other then that the book was fabulous!
such a wholesome story

I've read many and own several old copies of Porter's books, but had never got to this one... I was captivated. Most of the readers were great, except for chapters 16 and 17. His expression was so off kilter it was almost hard to follow lol. And one of the female readers had too much honey in her voice to fit the story (chapters 11-14). But freeloaders can't be choosers.
Another Masterpiece

I felt like the name of this book was so boring, so I almost didn't read it! I am so glad I did! It is so beautifully written, has a great plot, and the imagery makes me see each scene in my mind as if I was there. I didn't want it to end.

Well that was definitely worth listening too! Trust Gene Stratton Porter to come up with another high quality book! Wish modern writers would come up with books of this caliber.
