The Black Cat (1895-1922) was a monthly literary magazine, publishing original short stories, often about uncanny or fantastical topics. Many writers were largely unknown, but some famous authors also wrote original material for this magazine.
In this third issue of Volume 3, the following four stories are contained:
"A Celestial Crime", by Charles Stuart Pratt: who really killed Professor Gordon Browne ?
"The Affairs of Anne", by Louise Betts Edwards: who are the three mystery lovers of Anne ?
"For the Benefit of the Town", by Heloise E. Hersey: will Abby's fundraising for a hearse be successful ?
"A Touch of Civilization", by Miriam Michelson: goldminers start betting on an Indian girl's education
