Among the mixture of people spending the summer in a pension (boarding house) in Geneva are Felicia, a 20-year-old, and Katherine (30) who become good friends. Another person in the pension is Mr. Chetwynd, an elderly gentleman, whose handsome son Raine comes from Oxford to visit him – and causes a stir in the company, particularly with Felicia and Katherine who both fall for him. The book follows the developing relationships between these main characters. (Summary by Simon Evers) (4 hr 52 min)

An Exploration of Human Nature

Scott in Sandy Eggo
Beautifully read by Simon Evers, this is an exceptional short novel that explores the motivations and the pitfalls of the unsaid versus the heartfelt emotions that drive the conduct of the characters in this story. Well worth the time to hear.

WN
A schmaltzy soap opera featuring largely unlikable, deeply hypocritical characters, with not one but *two* "Of all the gin joints in all the world..." moments. The only thing that raises it above cheap melodrama is the reader, who is the best reader on Librivox.
always a great listen from author and reader
