Franklin W. Dixon
Lu par James R. Hedrick

The Hardy boys were sons of a celebrated American detective and from their father learned the particulars of a number of unusual crimes. They were fired with zeal to bring the criminals to justice, and during their hours from school, and during their vacation days, they followed up clues they unearthed themselves — aiding their parent very materially. Stories which are absorbing in the extreme.
The rescue of an old man from a wrecked cottage and an exciting journey to a Montana gold mine, lead Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of a famous detective, into thrilling adventures with a gang of dangerous outlaws. The outwitting of Black Pepper's gang needs all their skill and nerve when they are trapped and caught in their quest for the Hidden Gold. - Summary from the book jacket (4 hr 11 min)

Hardy Boys... still fun for adults

I basically learned to read using Hardy Boys stories (and Nancy Drew, and Encyclopedia Brown). in kindergarten, my parents would read them to me and I could never get enough so basically taught myself to read over the summer between kindergarten and first grade, primarily using Hardy Boys books. It took me about 2 minutes to finish See Spot Run, and yes that was the book I started with. First grade teacher didn't believe that I had taught myself to read. I proceeded to read aloud upside down words from the papers on her desk (oh to have eyes that sharp again).

Great story. The best of the original Hardy Boys. I found myself holding my breath, waiting on the outcome. The reader did a wonderful job, too. A perfect TEN!!!
