A tale of mystery, suspense, murder, romance and intrigue. Set in England at a time of omnibuses, shop girls, and societal changes together with the gentry and the poor alike. Hard to stop listening

(5 stars)

The story is most unusual and somewhat unnerving. Although, as it progressed, the pace picked up, it starts out slowly. Don't be discouraged and keep listening. There is much intrigue and strange goings on that increase with each chapter. The descriptions of London at the time, especially the forgotten slums are well done. The reader is SO perfect for this book. Thank you.
