John Steele Adventurer - Single Episodes
John Steele, Adventurer first broadcast in 1949, was a thriller/drama that, while not considered a major force in the world of radio, offered great entertainment. The eerie background sounds of jungles and deserts set the stage for the series, which featured Don Douglas as John Steele, a roving adventurer and thrill seeker with various jobs in exotic locations.
Among his roles were country sheriff, special agent in Turkey, and ship's captain. The stories were narrated by a friend of Steele's, with Steele making cameo appearances throughout. The series also featured notable personalities such as Ted Mallie, who was known for his work on The Shadow and I Love a Mystery, as the announcer, and Elliot Drake as the director.
Fans enjoyed the fast-paced action, with stories reminiscent of popular action magazines of the time. The producers creatively represented the thoughts of characters who couldn't speak using an echo chamber, adding to the series' unique storytelling. At the end of each story, John Steele would comment, "A life of adventure is yours for the asking, but don't look for it; it may find you! Happy hunting!" Despite its lower ratings compared to other shows, John Steele, Adventurer made a lasting impression on its audience.

Critiques
This is the best set of this series ever assembled
Greybelt
This series never got the respect of old radio collectors and could only be found here and there in collections. Finally, the collection has been gathered and it's in the best sound compared to what was originally circulating among collectors. There are also some rare episodes here.

WeLL Written & Overlooked

In my humble opinion (and I have listened to 90% of ALL remaining old time radio), this series is one of the most well written and most over-looked series of all time. I hope "new" episodes keep coming!!!!
