These recordings have been acquired from publicly available sources on the Internet, and my goal has been to put together a collection of every available episode where possible. I will add to these collections if I discover new episodes or if any new episodes become available. Additionally, while I tried to put together a collection that contains the best version of each episode that I could, there may be better copies of some recordings available from collectors and dealers, and I encourage you to reach out to them if you are so inclined. We OTR enthusiasts owe a huge debt to those who have worked tirelessly to discover, acquire and preserve these recordings. My role here has been to organize the files I have, verify the dates, episode numbers and titles as best I could from available sources, and correct and rename the files accordingly. Hans Conried in first episode

This collection includes what I believe to be the series' first episode, "Murder, Music, and a Blonde Madonna" that is on record as airing July 7, 1944. I think the only other place you can currently listen to this one via the web is YouTube, i.e., invidio.us/watch?v=qiP8UbL-zBw. And the great thing about it is that Egon/Pegon is played by Hans Conried, right before Conried enlists in the Army. You can hear Herbert Marshall's sendoff at ~25 mins:52 secs, i.e.: https://archive.org/details/man-called-x-1947-11-09-32-written-in-the-sand/Man+Called+X+1944-07-10+(xx)+Murder%2C+Music+and+a+Blonde+Madonna.mp3?start=1552 "By the way, the role of 'Egon' was played by Hans Conried, as a farewell gesture to an active life in radio theaters, and as a prelude to an even more active life in theaters of a different nature. Mr. Conried, I might add, relinquished the finest head of hair in the western hemisphere to become Private Conried, his Army serial number escaping me for the moment. Watch out for him. If his performance of Egon is any indication, he'll be a slippery man to deal with on the evening of pay day." Conried's Army enlistment two months later is noted on his Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Conried#Early_life At this time I'm not certain what his next work would have been, post-enlistment. Wikipedia currently only mentions that "Conried appeared regularly on radio during the 1940s and 1950s" without listing the particular shows. Wikipedia does however list the 117 movies and TV shows in which he appears, it's an impressive list. Lastly, I think they do call this character something like "Egon" in this episode, but the very same character in terms of attributes and mannerisms is called "Pegon" in subsequent episodes, played by Leon Belasco: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Belasco Thanks for the upload!
