Harper's Young People is an illustrated weekly publication for children that includes short stories, tales from history, natural history, poetry, puzzles, and other entertainment. This 43rd issue of the serial was published on August 24th, 1880. In this issue, the story of "The Moral Pirates" continues with more drama as the Whitewing breaks loose leaving the boys stranded on an island with dwindling food supplies. Also in this issue, a how-to guide for building "A Fresh Water Aquarium" to house plants, arthropods, fish, and more; the story of "The Tall Clock" that terrifies its young master; the Scandinavian myth of Odin, Loki, and the giant "Mirmir's Well"; and a rescue tale with unusual heroes in "How the Geese Saved the Baby". These articles and many more are sure to engage and enlighten children of all ages.
