The Adventures of Maisie

Paul Jones, Soldier on Leave

English · Radio, Humor

Maisie Ravier, played by Ann Sothern, is a quick-witted showgirl whose travels and everyday encounters lead her into comic complications. The series follows Maisie as she meets an assortment of people and finds her own resourceful way through each situation.

Presented as a radio comedy, the program centers on Maisie’s lively personality and her exchanges with the characters she encounters. Its stories draw on the mishaps, misunderstandings, and social tangles of life on the road, with Sothern’s performance giving Maisie a confident, conversational voice.

The result is light, character-driven entertainment, balancing Maisie’s sharp humor with the warmth of a heroine who can take care of herself. This recording is identified as “Paul Jones, Soldier on Leave.”
