Lu par LibriVox Volunteers

(4.9 stars; 13 reviews)

Soporific dullness is in the ear of the listener, and what's tedium incarnate to one person will be another person's passion and delight. However, it is hoped that at least one from the range of topics here presented will lull the busy mind to a state of sweet sleep.

Critiques

Third “Volume” of Soporific Speech Does the Stuff

(5 stars)

All three “volumes” are a collection of bits and pieces of printed manner that are brilliantly boring enough to send you right off to sleep when nothing else will. Pages from a telephone directory, a yarn catalog, promotional material from an oil company. In volume one, some poor sod even reads out the first thousand digits of pi! From this collection, Cornish Mutations is my favorite. Played low at bedtime, it’s like a little burbling brook of incomprehensible linguistics lecture sending me right off to sleep. To whoever thought this up, three cheers!

Wonderful for Insomnia

Puts me to sleep.

(4.5 stars)

Challenging task, admirably done. This is a solid tool to help sleep. Test chapters beforehand to know the narrators with the timbre and rhythm that’s right for you.
