The Lair of the White Worm is a chilling tale that delves into the depths of horror and the supernatural, crafted by the renowned author of Dracula, Bram Stoker. Set in the English countryside, the story unfolds around a mysterious estate and the sinister forces that lurk within its shadows, drawing on the ancient legend of the Lambton Worm.
As the narrative progresses, the characters find themselves entangled in a web of dark secrets and malevolent creatures. Stoker weaves a rich tapestry of myth and adventure, exploring themes of fear, temptation, and the battle between good and evil. The atmosphere is thick with suspense, as the protagonists confront the terrifying entity that threatens their lives.
Published in 1911, just before Stoker's death, this novel combines elements of horror with a unique mythological backdrop, distinguishing it from his more famous works. With its vivid imagery and haunting narrative, The Lair of the White Worm invites listeners to experience a world where ancient legends come to life and the line between reality and nightmare blurs.

Not bad

I guess I am not a Bram Stoker fan. The story doesn't really draw me in, I found myself listening just to hear how it ended. Some of the recordings are a bit rough; you can improve them with the equalizer. The quality noticeably improves the closer to the end of the book, so if you are a Stoker fan, go for it. I just felt the story itself was somewhat of a disappointment.
Wasted potential...

The story has some potential but it is wasted because Stoker gave his plot a rather slow pace and dwells in stereotypical descriptions of the English countryside, Africans etc.

Readers were exceptional. I enjoyed the actual slow burn story.
Okay

The narrators were fine. The story was just kind of silly.

would encourage reader to do more. Such as Victor Hugo, Churchill, Pope.
