END OF THE YELLOW PERIL?

AVID READER
Perhaps the best of the three Fu Manchu books. The style of all of the books is strange, short bursts of activity generously littered with doleful thoughts. But, it works for Rohmer. I immensely enjoyed all three.
amazing!

juju
well read and kept me on the edge of my seat!!!
Great Stories

I am becoming a fan of Elaine Tweddle The way she reads these stories is great. I like the accent she gives Fu Manchu. The new story "The Quest of the Sacred Slipper" is well worth listening to also. Roland
A little tiring but a good story

Satyaban
I hope the good doctor and Smith have finally learned how to protect Caramea, please excuse spelling, and stay together at least she and the doctor.
this is NOT short story collection

bc
no idea y 1st review says that.
Three is enough.

I have enjoyed listening to the first three books in the series now, and I am really grateful to the narrators for their amazing efforts in bringing them to us. The stories are riveting, and I’ll never regret having listened, but they do start to get the feeling of being serialized for a periodical, and follow a repetitive pattern of occurrences after a while. Definitely worth a listen though!
More spectacular andventures and another fine recording

Third book in the Fu-Manchu series: a collection of short stories about the adventures of Commissioner Sir Denis Nayland Smith and Dr. Petrie in stopping Dr. Fu-Manchu from becoming the ruler of the civilized world... Dr. Fu-Manchu at the height of his powers – more terrifying than ever! Many thanks to laineyben for her delightful reading: well worth listening to!
Great story, but . . .

Typical spellbinding Sax Rohmer story, but spoiled by the attempt at cliche Oriental accent. I like her reading, but as soon as she goes into her accents, it spoils it all for me and I find it racist (which should not be happening in this age). Stick to different voices, but skip the demeaning accents.
