Translated into over 100 languages, The Pilgrim's Progress is one of the most famous classics of literature. It is an allegorical novel, describing a Christian's journey through life to reach heaven. Part 1 was written by John Bunyan in 1679 whilst he was imprisoned for conducting unauthorised religious services, whilst Part 2 was not written until 1684, and is not included in many versions of this text. This recording includes both parts, and inline scripture references. (Summary by Joy Chan)

Other than the Holy Bible, my favorite book of all time. This includes both parts. This lady does a wonderful job and has the perfect accent for Bunyan

I love how she read

Great story! The reader's English improved as she carefully presented the work. Thank you, Joy! May the reading of God's message in His Word be power in your life to God's glory.

It had been ages since I read this book, so I decided to give Joy's reading a try. She does an excellent job. I was reminded again of how much imagery from this book permeates our Western culture and English language. Note: This is one of Joy's earlier works for Librivox - so if you enjoy this one, check out her other works - she gets better and better.

Very Edifying and Uplifting.

Joy Chan is a wonderful reader. You will find this classic Christian book a great encouragement. I read it several decades ago, and now heard it. You will find the many true and abiding promises of God's Word here made tangible by the characters and thematic places and events. "John 17: 17. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Psalm 42: 2. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? Read the whole Psalm. Enjoy listening.

This is an epic tale that charts the independent journeys of a man and subsequently that of his family to be with God in heaven, called the Celestial City in the book. John Bunyan imagines, through an allegorical format, every conceivable obstacle that a pilgrim might encounter on this journey. Using countless bible references he illustrates how these obstacles can be both recognised for what they are and how they might then be overcome. The story is read extremely well by Joy Chan.

Not only is this book a classic of the English language, which has greatly influenced western civilization, but it is a must read for anyone who takes the Christian life seriously. It will show you much about yourself and the world that you walk, even now, hundreds of years later. If you Delft deep into this allegory, You OK great rewards for your mind and soul. Joy Chan is an excellent reader, and handles the old-fashioned English, well, and makes it interesting to listen to.

Powerful!
