A great story, but I'm pretty sure I would happily listen to Karen reading a phonebook.

Sci-fi story

Charming story of an alternative universe where magic is... well, I won't give it away. As usual, Karen Savage gives us a professional quality reading. Thanks for your work, Karen. More, please. TheBookworm (Manchester, UK)

Off-beat story, stellar reader

I am a fan of quirky and surreal... Yet this went a little too far into incoherence for me. Still glad I listened to it though, and would recommend it as a fun thought provoker - just don't expect things to quite make sense by the end! (Added an extra star as Karen Savage is brilliant)

Magic makes the world go round!

Well, at least in this world, I liked this book soso, the characters are a bit stupid. Magic is real in this world, many do not understand why it works just that it does, and it takes a goober from our world to figure out how to save their world.

The ONLY reason I listened to this book was the fact that Karen Savage read it. But I am glad I did. Of course, she reads beautifully, but the book itself was weird, quirky and fun. Not high literature, but a fun, short, light experience. Glad it wasn’t longer, but enjoyed it as it was.

An oddball story but good

I enjoyed this one. It’s a really unusual concept and the execution is good. Lester Del Rey demonstrates an author can go off the usual track and pull it off. The reader is excellent and does great justice to the text.

I didn't like this story

But it is purely personal taste. The last two chapters take a dive in a direction I found offensive. The reading and recording qualities were excellent, some minor adjustments on the GE and I was able to hear comfortably.

Excellent

My favorite reader and a very interesting story. Plot twists you don't see coming keeps your in the edge of your seat. Great story if you like Sci-fi combined with just enough fantasy.
