Notes on Nursing

Leído por Cori Samuel

(4.7 stars; 32 reviews)

Notes on Nursing was published in 1859 and is a fascinating view into the theories underpinning the early development of modern nursing and public health reform by "the Lady with the Lamp", Florence Nightingale. Emphasising common sense and thought for the patient's care in many more ways than just administering physician-prescribed medicines, this is still a very relevant book for those interested in health or caring for the sick and infirm today.

artfully and articulately read. thanks!

Timeless

It seems to me that modern nursing has propped up Nightingale as an idol, while forgetting about the bulk of what she taught. Simple, profound, and important for female and male nurses to internalize. The reader was clear and engaging. A great listen.

Excellent Reader, Great Book!

the reader was really good and the book was absolutely fascinating. I'm a mother, not a nurse and found it very worthwhile.

holistic nurse approved

Add in some basic germ theory, application and *almost* all of this is pertinent to even modern nursing.

as a NURSE for 34 years, I found this to be as true today as it was when first written.
