The Vicomte De Bragalonne

(4 stars)

This was a very enjoyable book! I love Dumas and have always enjoyed his works. A lot of reviews mention the mispronunciation of certain names (as it can be confusing) and places. While I think that it is a great thing to volunteer and am looking into it myself, (we should all give back) that is my only complaint. I have been learning French and I recognize the slight or sometimes obvious errors that do cause confusion when pronounced correctly by some of the readers and incorrectly by others. Were I to read to anybody I would most certainly use the many tools at ones disposal to pronounce these words correctly (the internet is very easy to use in this and now days, with most people having smart phones, they even have foreign language apps and dictionaries in any language free of cost at your fingertips at all times) I think the correct pronunciation is important not only for confusion but it makes a beautiful language sound massacred. But I gratefully thank all readers!

I liked it a lot. These books get you better and better I feel. I know some people don't like them but I really enjoyed the dialogue and the scenes. I will continue with the book 10 years later.

Great Book, I enjoy reading/listening to all of the d'artagnan romances back to back on ocvassion. I just wish these were all read by one person because you get a lot of mispronounced words in a variety of matrators...but you can't really complain when it's free :-)

Fun adventure

A fun adventure. The readers are clear, and in some cases, make the story more interesting by the way they read.

Love the story, hated some of the readers.

Dumas , as usual brilliant, Unfortunately, your reader, Yollo Jones, no offence to him, I was disappointed with his recording. He had issues with tounge clicking, and what sounded like dentures tapping. Forgive me for being negative, it was very putting off. thank you.

it would really help to have some guidelines for these volunteers many of them do not have the proper equipment and it's hard to understand what they're saying

I prefer the readings done by a single person, for consistency of the reading, but this one wasn't a bad multi-reader.
