The Baltimore Catechism presents the teachings of the Catholic faith in a question-and-answer format, covering core beliefs and principles of Christian religion. Designed as an instructional text, it gives listeners a structured introduction to Catholic doctrine.

First published in 1885, it became a standard text in Catholic schools across the United States for much of the following century. Its concise questions and answers reflect the catechism-based approach to religious education used by generations of students.

This audiobook is suited to listeners seeking a historical Catholic teaching text or a direct, organized account of the beliefs it sets out. It is instructional rather than narrative, and its format makes the material easy to follow in short sections.

Reviews

Great book for all Catholics

Especially those who are interested in the traditional aspects of the faith as opposed to the modernism pervading the Roman Church today. I bwas surprised to see how similar the mass is to the traditional Anglo Catholic missal. A pleasant and wonderful surprise is also found in the final chapter. The reader, or should I say chorister, did a fantastic job bringing the hymns to life. Would love it if she did an entire hymnal on LibriVox.

Poorly read in parts

Poor enunciation in places makes it hard to understand.

The comment on the Vatican in 1922 May not have been accurate

I enjoyed reviewing the Baltimore Catechism.
