One Commonplace Day
Pansy
Leído por TriciaG
A temperance lecturer misses his train and ends up attending a town picnic. It was a common enough picnic on a commonplace day. But the discussions, actions, and attitudes from that picnic reverberate through the lives of many people. What are the far-reaching consequences of one commonplace day in OUR lives? I like both the reader & the story. Pansy is one of my favorite authors.
maddening inflection
A LibriVox Listener
I cannot speak for the text, because the inflection of the reader drove me crazy after five minutes. Does anyone else want to rerecord it?
good arguments for Christ and temperance
SweetClover
A classic Pansy book with a strong emphasis on the temperance question and Christian work. Definitely recommend!
All Temperance
Phxjennifer
One of Pansy's less interesting books, it reads like it was written specifically for the WCTU.

The sing song cadence of the reader drives me to distraction. I can't take it
On temperance
Stuart Gathmam
This story focuses on the temperance question, political as well as spiritual.
One Commonplace Day

Probably one of the best of Pansy’s books which I’ve listened to so far. Thankfully, any romance is very brief and not at all distracting. I love the scene of the wife and her lost husband in prayer together.
The reader sounds like she is from the midwest. I like her.
