Reviews

awesome old school action and adventure

(5 stars)

Really good book. Wished that Alex Foster would have read it all though. Some narrators really were crap

First Half Outstanding

(4 stars)

The recording and the story were both very entertaining. The voice for the first half was wonderful. He was able to handle different characters and do many accents. Toward the middle and the end however, the quality dropped off. The story is a nail-biting experience and it seems much more important to have a good recorder for the ending. Once we were through the first few chapters I was hooked.

a good read with a surprise ending ;)

Multiple narrators tho

(3 stars)

Such a great book and perfect narration by Alex Foster...then suddenly the narration changed to a different reader every other chapter and most were just really really bad. I couldn't even finish listening after one pronounced the Sioux as "Sooks" over and over and over again. 😭

phineas fogg always entertains

loved it again.

First half is great...

(3 stars)

I have to agree with others who have noted that the first half of the book is read excellently, but the second half is mediocre to poor. I do understand that these are volunteers, not professionals, but someone who mispronounces a basic word like "country" simply should not be used as a reader.

Excellent narrator for the first half, poor to average for the r

(3 stars)

Whilst the first 19 chapters are very well read and engaging to listen to, the experience as a whole is let down by the extremely poor narrators in the latter half.

Amazing

This in a wonderful story. Full of adventure. There's so many facts that the author told us along the way, so many numbers. But It wasn't boring, it just added more to the book. And it's amazingly written.
