Excellent book and great reader. Unlike a few recent books, the story line was perfectly mended together from beginning to end. Excellent book! May God bless the reader.

an unlikely story

(3 stars)

I found the book to be more than a little silly and unlikely. The equivalent to Hansel and Gretal.

Not a Typical Boy Hero Alger Story!

(4 stars)

I am sad that after listening to Timothy Crump's Ward, there are no more Alger books for me to listen to! I hope Librivox will record more soon. Timothy Crump's Ward does have a typical Alger teen boy as a main character, but an eight year old girl is the one that has most of the adventures. I really enjoyed this story. As with all Alger books, the coincidences can be unrealistic, but through it all, good triumphs over evil. If you like turn of the century children's books, I think you'll enjoy it too!

Enjoyable

(3 stars)

Despite an astonishing amount of coincidences, stupendously naive characters, silly 19th century ideals, and a very sappy ending, this book was surprisingly enjoyable. The narrator made frequent mispronunciations, and was a bit stilted. But I liked her voice and reading pace, so I shall look out for more of her readings.

This is a really sweet story!

I appreciate a good, clean story in this awful world and this one filled the bill. The reader was hard to listen to. Very stiff and stilted, with many mispronunciations, I found that the reading distracted from the story. Story =5 Reader=3

This is one of my go back to stories! I still laugh out loud each time. I absolutely love EVERY aspect! The plot the excellent reader and the ending. THANKS to all who made it possible

READS. LIKE A SHORT STORY

(4 stars)

Enough societal detail abd tension to make it a story. It reads like an outline of a film plot. It has the depth of Anne of Green Gables. Enjoyable.

Excellent story...lots of excitement and mystery.
