Geronimo (1829 – 1909) was a prominent leader of the Bedonkohe Apache who fought against Mexico and the United States for their expansion into Apache tribal lands for several decades during the Apache Wars. "Geronimo" was the name given to him during a battle with Mexican soldiers.

After an attack by a company of Mexican soldiers killed his mother, wife and three children in 1858, Geronimo joined revenge attacks on the Mexicans. During his career as a war chief, he was notorious for consistently urging raids upon Mexican Provinces and their towns, and later against American locations across Arizona, New Mexico and western Texas. Found this reader's delivery very distracting. His accents did not do it for me.

This account,in comparison to the only other testimony,comes a tardy second on a lonely but sky level podium.My Life According to Geronimo by the same man has so much more of a personal edge,fire,passion,regret,the extreme feeling of loss & emptiness that this Apache Indian Chief Geronimo could never replace since the Mexican soldiers took away the lives of his wife,3 children & mother away from him before his eyes.This accounts mostly for the Confederates armys point of view whereas My Life according to Geronimo takes his testimony from of course his own point of view.The one thing I despised the most is that there was many obvious discrepencies between his account & the armies account,especially when the Presidents many promises of provision of land, welfare of his & many other tribes(including enemies that Geronimo specifically requested to presidents suprise),simply on the condition that Geronimo would retire from all warfare.I was simply gobsmacked at the Chief ability to keep a simple promise. 3 & 1/2☆.
