Good story

I have listened to this story 2x. There are lots of neat twists to this story. On the planet Wolf, humans and natives stand fiercely apart from each other. Only two humans have ever been accepted by the natives, and those two are now engaged in a blood feud. This changes however, when the wife of the one seeks help from the other to save her missing daughter. Throw in a strange religious cult and some savage toys, and you get a great story. The recordings were good, and the reader was also good. Enjoy.

I was less thrilled with this book than I was with The Colors of Space. The story and characters weren't as captivating. I did not care as much for the narrators either. The female voice read slightly faster than I could follow without actively concentrating. I listen to audio books while I drive, so I actively concentrate on that and listen more passively.

I enjoyed the first half of the story , it seemed to lose its way around the second half also I couldn't get used to the male voice of Clive catteral , I just couldn't get back into the story , sort of ruined it .

Excellent story

the author painted a vivid and believable world the hero must weave through. The story was gripping and compelling. I thought it was fantastic. both narrators did a good job of capturing the feel of the story. I highly recommend.

Pre-Darkover

This novel was first published in 1961. It is easy to see how the planet Wolf was re-worked into the opening novel about Darkover (Darkover Landfall) which was published in 1972. For a Darkover fan this was a treat.

This story is as fresh today as it was when written. Fantastic author knows how to write a great sci-fi story. Wish there was more to come. The narrators did a fantastic job expressing the different characters. Peter T.

Fairly Good story

Really enjoyed the intrigued at the beginning. the last few chapters kind of fell a little flat. Author could have expanded the relationship more. it felt rushed to the ending. Both readers did a great job.

Captivating story

More action and drama than your typical science fiction story. I loved the story lime. This is one I want to hear again. Both readers were wonderful, but switching at the end was a little jarring.
