I am enjoying reading (or rather having read to me) The series of magazines so excellently read by the LibriVox volunteers. This has not been my favourite however. Some of the stories seemed a little bit contrived or lacking in enough reality for that suspension of disbelief.
I was A little bemused by the story a phalanx of Atlans, with its continual praise of the classical period and its continual use of racial stereotypes of Jews made me wonder if the author was a fan of that other contemporary writer Mr Hitler in Germany.
I have to say that the final story reading by Beth Thomas was absolutely wonderful and really lifted this collection and ended it on a high note.
